How long have you been in business?2 years 4 months
What is your business all about? I am retired and a first time author. I have a book out called My Angel My Hero. I also have 3 or 4 other books to be published soon. The book is about my parents. Who lived during the depression and WWII. It's also about our family. My mom Snowe(our angel) and dad Earl(our hero).
What made you start your business? I started writing after both my parents passed away. And the Lord and my parents inspired me to write. And the Lord's many miracles and blessings I wanted to write about. These are my greatest inspirations.
What makes your business unique? My business is unique in that besides blessing us with our unique, loving parents. It is also important to encourage and bless others. And possibly open hearts to the love, blessings and miracles the Lord gives us daily. This is primarily my wishes in starting to write books, poetry and articles.
What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful business owner?
- Educated in a variety of marketing, writing, accounting and counseling skills if a writer?
- Knowing your audience/customers- their needs, values etc.
- And the greatest skill is never giving up. And if something doesn't work? Innovate or try something else.
What three pieces of advice would you give to someone who wants to launch their own business?
- Study, educate yourself fully on your business.
- Study the market/ is the business viable.
- Do you have the expertise, marketing and financial ability to start and maintain your business?
Who has been your greatest inspiration? Or what book has inspired you the most? Or what is your favorite book? Of course, my parents and the Lord are my greatest inspirations. The most influential book is the Bible. I do like history and mystery books. Especially like Sherlock Holmes where he uses deduction to solve crimes.
How do you conquer those moments of doubt that so often stifle or trip up or stop so many? Yes, I do suffer doubts sometimes. But I have faith in myself and the Lord. And if it's the Lord's plan? I know nothing will stop me. So I trust in myself and the Lord always.
Please feel free to share any other information that will help your audience get to know you better. I write for the pleasure and enjoy sharing my thoughts and ideas. And believe it's an honor when other's like my writing too. And love encouraging others.
Passion: My passion or skill set was in having lived with two very unique, special parents. My mom who had a real love for family and strangers. My dad who fought in WWII, who helped defeat the evil of Nazism. And had mental illness that he defeated too. I also have MS in Counseling that helps me understand people better.
